 This position will be responsible for specimen collection, specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results.  Responsible for recognizing results or problems that require referral to the laboratory director/physician.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry
  • Current MT or MLT Licensure
  • 1+ year experience in a medical laboratory

Job Information

The ER nurse participates in the delivery of individualized patient care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.  Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing, with current Alabama Nursing License.
  • BCLS, ACLS, TNCC certified.  PALS and/or NALS strongly preferred.
  • Assertive person with good communication skills. Must be flexible with schedule.  Participates in the nurse management team.  Should possess strong clinical skills.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time and ability to lift or assist lifting patients and/or equipment.
