Job Summary: Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a registered nurse. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with ED physicians about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies.  Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN Licensure in the State of Alabama
  • Current BLS certification
  • Successful completion of IV Therapy course
  • Minimum one-year work experience as a LPN in an acute care setting

Job Summary:

The Admitting Specialist registers patients, answers the main hospital telephone line, and receives co-pays and deductibles. This position is responsible for all registration paperwork, verifying the insurance, and ensuring the patient’s confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Requirements include but are not limited to a High School diploma or the equivalent,
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to type 45 wpm
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • One year of experience in healthcare or related field.
  • This position requires the ability to work independently and the ability to make decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Excellent communication required.
